Zeus filaments set the bar for performance in a wide range of applications. Whether used in monofilament form as a mandrel during catheter construction, as braiding for wire harnesses or catheter reinforcement, or even woven for a filter in drawn fiber form, our filament products excel in the most demanding environments and are made to the highest standards.
Zeus filaments are categorized into two forms: monofilament and drawn fiber. Monofilament is a single, thread-like extrusion utilized in many applications, ranging from mandrels used to form the inside diameter (ID) of catheters during construction, to MRI-compatible braid reinforcement for advanced catheter designs.
Drawn fiber is an improved-performance monofilament that has been stretched, pulled, or drawn down during manufacturing, resulting in enhanced mechanical properties. You will find our drawn fibers in a broad range of applications where lubricity and high tensile strength are paramount. Our drawn fibers exhibit excellent temperature resistance and stand up to abrasion minimizing the effects of wear.
Customization is key
Looking for a custom size or tolerance? At Zeus, we specialize in customization. We routinely produce PTFE monofilament and glass-filled PTFE monofilament with tolerances down to ± 0.0005” (± 0.0127 mm) on many sizes. With drawn fiber, we routinely produce outer diameter sizes from 0.002″ (0.051 mm) to 0.040″ (1.016 mm), other sizes are possible by request. We also offer rectangular profiles as small as 0.001″ (0.025 mm) × 0.003″ (0.076 mm) and engineered surfaces to provide customized shapes and enhanced lubricity.

Custom Colors
Colors are often used for application specifics or branding purposes. All our monofilament and drawn fiber resins are available with pigments to add color.*
