Eliminating the production challenge of microcatheter delamination.
Innovative microcatheter technology and production techniques have enabled sophisticated minimally invasive treatments for patients with neurovascular conditions such as ischemic stroke and cerebral aneurysms. However, microcatheter manufacturers still face obstacles, including the bonding of the many specialized layers of the microcatheter together.
Due to contrasting chemistries, these specialized layers can often separate, known as ‘delamination’. Despite many advances in catheter construction, delamination remains a recurring vulnerability that puts patients at risk and poses a serious and costly challenge for manufacturers.
